From August 6th to October 24th, 2021 it is possible to attend at Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca’ d’Oro in Venice the event “Canaletto meets Guardi. A Comparison between Two Venetian Views: The Quay towards the Salute Church”, which is included in the museum itinerary.
This exhibit, as several other events in town in this period, is part of the celebrations for the 1600th birthday of Venice.
It will be possible to compare two paintings with the same subject, one painted by Francesco Guardi, which is property of the Franchetti Collection, and the other by Canaletto, a loan from Civica Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco in Milan.
This comparison between two major Venetian landscapists of the 1700’s is definitely interesting.
