At the Franchetti Gallery of the Ca’ d’Oro Museum it is now possible to admire, up to May 17th, the precious painting “The Holy Family with St. Catherine of Alessandria” painted by Lorenzo Lotto in 1533.
This theme would be frequently present in religious art over the centuries, but in this masterpiece the artist totally revolutioned the classical representation of this subject, with respect to the way it had been painted by other masters before.
