Modern and Contemporary Art in Venice

What about modern and contemporary arts in Venice? Is there anything in this city? Our city is full of museums, palazzos, gardens showing unique works of contemporary art. The famous Biennale every year attracts lots of people  coming from every country of the world.

Venice is not only a city where you can find, at every single step, history and art of past centuries… It is also possible, and it is every time a surprise, to see important architectures built in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Moreover, it is worth to know that it was in Venice that in 1895 the first idea of an International Exhibit of Contemporary Art was born: the Biennale is still one of the most important such exhibits, visited by thousands of people.
And it was in Venice that the famous American art collector Peggy Guggenheim decided to live: she bought the palazzo Venier dei Leoni, where she lived, and where she displayed her rich private collection of contemporary art, giving all visitors the possibility of entering it.
In recent years, the wealthy French patron of contemporary arts, François Pinault, has decided to show his collection in the beautiful palazzo Grassi along the Grand Canal and in the rooms once occupied by the Custom Offices, Punta della Dogana, where he also organizes temporary exhibits.
But consider also palazzo Fortuny, the Prada Foundation, the Cini Foundation, palazzo Pesaro, with all their examples of 19th and 20th century masterpieces…
